Within days of the 2010 Haitian earthquake Julie Colombino was on the ground in Haiti as a first responder. It was working along side the Haitian people in the aftermath of the quake she morphed social entrepreneur and launched Rebuild Global and Deux Mains Designs.

At the request of the local Haitian women Julie opened a ‘tire sandal’ shop. And together with her Haitian team began creating jobs and products. Over the years Julie has re-thought the traditional charity model and worked to create a new type of business that merges social impact with profit.  In our conversation she explains social business and how she leverages two different structures to achieve both missional and financial goals.
